Land Development Code Update Workshop (B)
Explanation
A workshop was requested by the City Commission to discuss the ongoing update of the Land Development Code prior to the first scheduled public hearing on March 30, 2015. The workshop will be an opportunity for planning staff to provide an update regarding the public outreach efforts and the current status of the project along with a discussion of the relevant issues and improvements proposed for the City's Land Development Code.
The code is being updated, among other things, to provide a more predictable and streamlined set of development regulations, reconcile disparate code sections, incorporate best practices by being proactive to the changing economy, and reformatting the code to make it more user friendly by adding tables, charts and graphics. Staff has conducted extensive outreach throughout the community and has held multiple public hearings before the City Plan Board to discuss the varying elements of the update.
