Resolution - Appointment of Members to the City of Gainesville Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (B)
Explanation
A 2007 amendment to the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program Act, Subsections 420.907-420.9079, Florida Statutes, (the "Act") required all counties and municipalities in the State of Florida to establish Affordable Housing Advisory Committees and to appoint members to the Advisory Committee by Resolution. In accordance with the Act, the City of Gainesville adopted Ordinance No. 070872 on April 14, 2008, establishing the City of Gainesville Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (the "Advisory Committee"). In accordance with the Act and the Ordinance, this Resolution appoints members to the Advisory Committee and establishes their respective terms of appointment.
In accordance with the Act and the Ordinance, the Advisory Committee must conduct a public hearing and submit its first report of recommendations to the City Commission by December 31, 2008; and a minimum of every three years thereafter.
Pursuant to the Ordinance, the advisory committee shall be cooperatively staffed by the Housing Division and the Planning and Development Services Department to the extent necessary to ensure an integrated approach to the work of the Advisory Committee.

The City Commission: adopt the Resolution, as required by State law, appointing the members of the City of Gainesville Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and establishing their respective terms of appointment.
