Explanation
At the August 19, 2021 City Commission Meeting, the Commission selected Zeriah Folston as the interim Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director and authorized the Mayor to negotiate an employment agreement with Mr. Folston. An agreement has been reached between the Mayor and Mr. Folston and is presented to the Commission for approval.
The agreement is consistent with all other Charter Officer agreements and is included in the item as backup.
Fiscal Note
The funds necessary to compensate Mr. Folston for salary and benefits are included in the Fiscal Year 2021 operating funds and are also a component of the Fiscal Year 2022 Operating and Financial Plan.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) approve the employment agreement with Mr. Folston; and 2) authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement subject to approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality.
