Explanation
The City Commission, on November 1, 2012, based on a motion by Commissioner Bottcher, referred the issue of Including a requirement of collecting petitions for the candidate qualification process to the Audit, Finance and Legislative Committee.
On August 29th, the Audit, Finance and Legislative Committee members, Commissioner Bottcher and Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Pam Carpenter discussed this issue and agreed to recommend that the City Commission remove this item from the referral list.
Recommendation
The Audit, Finance and Legislative Committee recommends removal of this item from the referral list.
