Explanation
E Source is an information services company that provides organizations with unbiased, independent analyses of end use technologies and application issues, innovative energy service offerings and strategic developments, nationwide and globally. E Source clients include over 350 electric and gas utilities, other energy service providers, large energy users and government agencies. GRU has been a member of E Source for nine years. By signing a one-year agreement with bundled services, GRU will receive a 29 percent discount on products and services.
E Source is currently one of GRU’s primary sources for technical and market information to help guide both short and long-term planning for the delivery of electric, natural gas and associated products and services.
Information services provided by the E Source subscription include: 1) E Source E Business Service: Provides information specifically geared to the needs of electric utilities. The service focuses on the strategy of electronic commerce on the Web; 2) E Source Green Energy Service: provides information on the growing renewable energy market with lessons learned from other utilities and proprietary market research. The service focuses on which residential and commercial customers to target, the messages that appeal to them, and the most cost-effective marketing channels. It will also keep us up to date on the latest changes in regulation and legislation that will affect green energy markets; 3) E Source Large Commercial Service: This service provides the tools we need to serve our large commercial customers, plus the strategic information our marketing department and account managers need to help make sound product and business decisions; 4) E Source Residential Energy Service: This service delivers essential information and analysis to help us develop and implement effective programs and offerings for residential customers.
