Universal Fare Free Transit Service (B)
Explanation
At the April 2001 Joint City/County Commission meeting, a motion was passed requesting that RTS prepare a report on the fiscal impact and funding requirements for the City to consider implementation of a Universal Fare Free Transit Service for travel on the Regional Transit System.
RTS staff has completed this draft report. The report contains projections for ridership trends, capital and facility improvement needs, staffing and related issues, and identifies potential funding requirements. This draft assumes a two-cent ($.02) increment of a total five-cent ($.05) increase in the Local Option Gas Tax and will be available for revenue offsets.

There is no fiscal impact at this time.
Recommendation
The City Commission hear the report from RTS staff and take appropriate action.
