On June 17, 2008, a Complaint filed by Pete McManus in the Federal Court was hand-delivered to the City. Mr. McManus alleges violation of his civil and constitutional rights by the Gainesville Housing Authority for alleged toxic conditions in his apartment and in the housing complex. Mr. McManus seeks money damages and attorney's fees. There are no factual allegations in the Complaint as to any actions of the City or the Mayor that led to the filing of the suit. The City will seek an early dismissal of the claims against the City and the Mayor.
