Explanation

At the April 10, 2000 City Commission Meeting George Pine of the Gainesville Chess Club asked the City Commission to waive expenses for use of the Thomas Center for an upcoming Chess Tournament July 24th & 25th, 2000.  

Recommendation

The City Commission transfer $1,136 from the City Commission Contingency Fund to the Cultural Affairs Department to cover expenses for The Gainesville Chess Club Tournament July 24th and 25th to be held at the Thomas Center; also the City of Gainesville be listed as co-sponsor of this event in any advertisements.
