Explanation

Freeman N. Gallmon, Pastor, Mount Moriah Baptist Church has requested of the City Manager a Quitclaim Deed to clear up a cloud on the title to property owned by the church.  Based on a title search, in the year 1885, H. P. Langley set aside this property for streets in Langley's Addition.  City records show that the City never officially accepted this property for streets.  The property is currently vacant and has never been maintained or occupied by the City for streets or utilities.

Recommendation

The City Commission: 1)  approve the releasing of any claimed rights to the dedicated right of way; 2) approve the issuance of a Quit Claim Deed; and 3) authorize the City Manager to execute the deed.
