Title Extensions to Annual Materials Supply Contracts for Redi-Mix Concrete for FY 2000 Explanation Redi-Mix Concrete is used by the Public Works Department's Operations Division in the routine maintenance of City streets and drainage facilities. Redi-Mix Concrete is also used in capital projects and in repairs to City facilities necessitated by utility installations and repairs. Contracts awarded for Fiscal Year 1998 allow for two one-year extensions. This is the second request for extensions. Services with both suppliers have been satisfactory and a survey by Operations Division staff has revealed that both suppliers' prices are competitive. Fiscal Note All purchases will be charged to the appropriate operating budget account or the appropriate capital improvement account. Recommendation The City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to execute Extension Agreements for the annual supply of Redi-Mix Concrete with Rinker Materials Corporation and Florida Rock Industries, Inc., extending the term of each Agreement from October 1, 1999 to September 30, 2000, subject to approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality and subject to final appropriation of funds for FY 2000.
