Explanation
Bruce DeLaney of the University of Florida Foundation approached the City Commission asking that the City examine its land use and zoning in the eastern part of University Heights, to determine whether it allows the mixed uses and residential densities envisioned by the Dover Kohl Special Area Plan. The City Commission referred this item to the Community Development Committee. The Community Development Committee discussed this issue and heard a report from staff. Historically this area was zoned in a manner consistent with the medical office uses in the area. Staff has reviewed the existing land use and zoning, and offers two options for changes that would allow mixed uses and higher residential densities.
