Alternative Internal Affairs Complaint Initiation Procedure for the Gainesville Police Department (B)

Explanation

During the City Commission meeting of November 26, 2001, the City Commission directed the City Manager to report back on the feasibility of establishing an alternate routing of complaints about the Police Department.  The Equal Opportunity Director, Police Chief, and City Manager have discussed an alternative process and developed a formal proposal.  The new "Alternative Gainesville Police Department Internal Affairs Complaint Initiation Procedure" has been endorsed by the City Manager, Police Chief, and Equal Opportunity Director.

Some small expenses may be involved in printing new forms.

Recommendation

The City Commission approve the Alternative Gainesville Police Department Internal Affairs Complaint Initiation Procedure.
