Explanation
The Annual Action Plan outlines the specific organizations and activities to be funded through CDBG and HOME in the next fiscal year. It is based on decisions made by the City Commission at the July 17, 2000, budget workshop regarding FY 2001 CDBG and HOME funding allocations. The City's Annual Action Plan must be submitted to HUD by August 15, 2000.
The 2000-2003 interim Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan contains a description of the needs of the community, as well as goals and strategies for addressing those needs in the next three years. As its title implies, the Consolidated Plan addresses both housing and non-housing needs, particularly for low- and moderate-income persons. This plan builds upon the 1996-2000 Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan that was submitted to HUD in 1995. The 2000-2003 Interim Consolidated Plan must also be submitted to HUD by August 15, 2000. (A copy of the 2000-2003 Interim Consolidated Plan is on file in the Clerk of the Commission's Office. After July 24, 2000, it will be on file in the Department of Community Development Block Grant Division.)
Fiscal Note
The total projected CDBG and HOME program expenditures for FY 2001 is $2,359,000. Sources of funds are CDBG - $1,642,000; HOME - $717,000, including anticipated CDBG and HOME carryover dollars.
