recommendation

The City Commission adopt the proposed ordinance.

explanation

The City Commission at its meeting of February 16, 2017 approved the Interlocal Agreement for Election Services.  The Agreement provides that the Clerk of the Commission is designated as the registration and qualifying officer for City elections.  This amendment addresses this provision of the Agreement and also provides that the City may contract with the Supervisor of Elections to take back these duties.  This ordinance requires two hearings and shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
