Proposed CRA Amended Budget - FY 2001/2002 (B)
Explanation
The City of Gainesville adopted the budget for the 2001/2002 fiscal year during the two-year budget cycle in July of 2000. Actual revenues for FY 2001/2002 in Fifth Avenue Pleasant Street (FAPS) and College Park University Heights (CPUH) are higher than projected and need to be appropriated to particular budget line items. Unspent fund balance from the previous year also needs to be appropriated.
There are a significant number of projects currently under development by the City and County that are looking to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for funding assistance, including the Southwest 5th Avenue Stormwater Basin to be shared by the CPUH and Downtown Redevelopment (DRAB) districts, streetscape enhancements for the parking garage, courthouse and Southwest 2nd Avenue, enhancements to the Florida Department of Transportation Main Street project and lighting for the Sweetwater Park. Public Works is preparing estimated costs for these projects and a presentation was made to the CRA at the January meeting. The funds available for these projects are represented in the Capital Projects line item of the CPUH and DRAB budgets.
On December 11, 2001, the Fifth Avenue Pleasant Street Redevelopment Advisory Board considered recommendations for appropriation of additional revenues as well as unspent funds from the administrative and current project budgets. The advisory board has recommended specific appropriations.
