Explanation

On November 8, 2004, the City Commission adopted the Handbill Ordinance on first reading.  An additional motion was made and carried, to request that the Public Safety Committee Staff Assistant agenda this item on or before January 1, 2006.

On December 15, 2005, the Public Safety Committee heard from Gainesville Police Department staff who provided a one year review of the successful effectiveness of this ordinance.  A synopsis of this review is included in the back-up.

Recommendation

The City Commission accept the Public Safety Committee's report out on the review of the effectiveness of the Handbill Ordinance, and remove this item from the pending referral list.
