Explanation

This is a request to add an additional $160,000 to the Gainesville Police Department's purchase order for Lewis Oil Company for the purchase of fuel. Currently, there is $663,013 on the purchase order and approximately $365,193 has been spent as of April 11, 2011; which leaves a balance of  $297,819.22. This amount is not enough to cover GPD's fuel expenses until September 30, 2011 with the increase in fuel prices.

Fiscal Note

Funds in the amount of $160,000 for this expenditure are available in the Gainesville Police Department's general fund overall budget.

Recommendation

The City Commission approve the increase of $160,000 for the purchase order to Lewis Oil Company.
