Interlocal Agreement for Automatic Aid with Alachua County for Fire and EMS Services (B)

This item requests the Commission approve the Interlocal Agreement Between Alachua County and City of Gainesville Regarding Automatic Aid for Fire and EMS Services.

Explanation

The City of Gainesville and Alachua County entered into the Interlocal Agreement between Alachua County and City of Gainesville Regarding Automatic Aid for Fire and EMS Services on June 13^th, 2018.  That agreement expires September 30^th, 2019. 

On September 10th, 2019, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved a new interlocal agreement for Fire and EMS automatic aid and on September 12th, 2019 the City's General Policy Committee heard a presentation and referred the draft agreement to the Joint City/County Commission scheduled for September 23rd, 2019. 

Fiscal Note 

The proposed cost per unit response is $869.92.

Recommendation

The Commission authorize the Mayor or designee to execute the Interlocal Agreement Between Alachua County and City of Gainesville Regarding Automatic Aid for Fire and EMS Services subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
