Explanation
For the third consecutive year, the Alachua County School Board is printing a Safe and Drug-Free Calendar to promote families' and parental involvement with their children to keep them safe and drug-free. The calendar involves the participation of the Alachua County School Board, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, and the Gainesville Police Department. Student artwork and essays are featured in the calendar, along with a message from the Chief of Police to the parents and children of Alachua County. The calendar will then be distributed to all students (K-8) in Alachua County in September 2002. Each of the involved agencies is assisting in offsetting the cost of the printing and issuance of this year's calendar.
