Amend the Interlocal Agreement with Alachua County and Alachua County Housing Authority for Operation of the local Office on Homelessness (B)
This agenda item requests the City Commission to approve an amendment to the Interlocal Agreement with Alachua County and Alachua County Housing Authority to extend the Agreement for a two-year term for operation of the local Office on Homelessness.
Explanation
Since October 2006, the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Gainesville, Alachua County, and the Alachua County Housing Authority (Agreement) has continued for the operation of a local Office on Homelessness under the direction of the Alachua County Housing Authority. This amended Interlocal Agreement provides for services related to implementation of the City of Gainesville-Alachua County 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness to be funded by the City of Gainesville and Alachua County through September 30, 2011.
Fiscal Note
The City Commission has allocated $36,000 from the City's FY 2009-2010 budget and $36,000 is being proposed for the FY 2010-2011 budget for a total of $72,000. The Board of County Commissioners has allocated $36,000 from the County's FY 2009-2010 budget and $36,000 FY 2010-2011 budget for a total of $72,000. In accordance with the Agreement, the County will provide to the City $36,000 within 30 days of the execution of the Interlocal Agreement for the Office on Homelessness for FY 2009-2010 and an additional $36,000 by October 31, 2010 for FY 2010-2011. The total contribution is $144,000 from the City and County towards this Agreement to fund the operation of the local Office on Homelessness during the next two years.
