Gainesville Cultural Affairs Board discussion of Outside Agency Grant(NB)
Explanation
Every two years the Cultural Affairs Division works with the Gainesville Cultural Affairs Board (CAB) to put out a granting opportunity for local arts and culture agencies, known as the Outside Agency Grant. This grant provides some critical funding to these agencies and is on a two-year cycle.
The 2020 grant was opened in January, and closed on April 1, 2020. Typically CAB reviews the applications and convenes a grant panel in May. However, with Covid19 this has been postponed. The panel met with permission on June 27 to review and score the grants. Once the scoring is input and the iterations have been decided on in the Budget & Grants Subcommittee, the full board needs to vote on the grant iteration, and make their recommendation so that the Commission can receive it prior to the start of the Fiscal Year (October 1).
