Explanation

This item was brought forward by former City Arborist Meg Niederhofer during citizen comment on July 19, 2012.  Included as backup to this item is a proposed policy and procedure provided by Meg Niederhofer to the City Commission on July 19, 2012 and an August 2011 executed Memorandum of Agreement between the Public Works Department and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department related to maintenance of the urban forest.

Recommendation:

The Audit, Finance and Legislative Committee hear a presentation by former City Arborist Meg Niederhofer and discuss the issue of developing policies and procedures for managing risk in the urban forest.
