Title
Grants Program Specialist (B)
Explanation
This Events Coordinator position, professional pay grade 40 ($28,993 to $42,909), has evolved in the scope of responsibilities, administrative duties, and level of independent judgement due to the department's growing and active involvement in a variety of grant programs. In addition to the current responsibilities relating to the review of external applications and coordination of those events with other City departments, the new responsibilities include working closely with the Gainesville/Alachua County Cultural Affairs Board and the Board's Budget and Grants Subcommittee. The position now develops and implements grant regulations and contracts, ensures compliance, delivers payments, and prepares compliance reports. There are no existing classifications in the Occupational Index, which adequately describe these functions.
Fiscal
Due to reclassification of the position arising from a job audit, a 5% salary adjustment is made and will result in an annualized fiscal impact of approximately $2,200 (includes benefits). The Office of Management and Budget concurs with the estimated impact.
Recommendation
The City Commission approve the establishment of the job title Grants Program Specialist in Cultural Affairs at a professional pay grade 43 ($33,563 to $49,673) in the Occupational Index and reclassify an Events Coordinator position (professional pay grade 40, $28,993 - $42,909) in Cultural Affairs to the same.
