Explanation
The Gainesville Police Department, with strengths in many areas, also is an agency significantly lacking in the area of GIS technology. The Gainesville Police Department would like to contract with 3001, Inc. professional services to create a Geographical Information System (GIS) database and a Spatial Crime Analysis System (SCAS) program for use by the Police Department's DataTrac and Crime Analysis Units. This data is needed for crime mapping by the Crime Analysis Unit and for the DataTrac program. DataTrac will plot calls for service, arrests, crimes, etc. in an effort to hold commanders, supervisors and ultimately officers responsible for their areas of assignment. Contracting with 3001, Inc. will provide ...
