Contract - Brink's Inc.
Explanation
On October 27, 1997, the City Commission approved awarding a contract for armored car services to Brink's Inc., the low bidder for the services. The bid and resulting contract allowed for the option of up to three one-year extensions. During the past year, Brink's Inc. has provided satisfactory service, and staff recommends extending the contract for an additional year. Anticipated costs will be approximately $40,750 unless additional pickup sites are added or additional liability coverage is required above the normal amount because of high-value shipments.
Fiscal Note
Funds for armored car services are available in the individually selected department budgets.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) approve a one-year extension to the contract with Brink's Inc. for armored car services subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality; and 2) authorize the issuance of a purchase order subject to final appropriation of funds for FY 99.
