This item is a Resolution for approval and authorization to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, allowing the City of Gainesville to provide maintenance for the proposed traffic signal equipment at a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Local Area Project site known as the SW 62nd Boulevard Interim Projects.
 
Explanation
FDOT is preparing to undertake a Local Area Project known as the SW 62nd Boulevard Interim projects within the boundaries of the City of Gainesville.  FDOT also requires that the County agree to maintain all traffic signalization equipment considered non-standard by FDOT for that portion of this project that is located within the FDOT Right of Way at the intersection of SR 24 and SW 40th Boulevard.  As the City of Gainesville is the maintenance agency for all of the traffic signals in Alachua County, this Memorandum of Agreement is required prior to construction.
 
Fiscal Note
Funding is available in the Public Works FY10 operating budget.
 
Recommendation
The City Commission:  1) adopt the Resolution.
