Upgrade of the Building Management Division Manager in the Facilities Management Department (B)

Explanation

Duties of the Building Management Division Manager, currently Manager pay grade 73 ($41,782 to $62,833), have changed substantially since the division was reorganized to a department. In addition to departmental budget preparation and administration, long and short range planning, department administration responsibilities, reports and presentations, the job has grown to include the management of City building and construction projects, with projects totaling more than $7.5 million dollars since 1996.

Fiscal Note

Approval of the recommended upgrade will result in a 5% adjustment to base pay and an annualized fiscal impact of approximately $3,000; this includes benefits. The Office of Management and Budget concurs with the estimated impact.

Recommendation

Personnel & Organizational Structure Committee recommend the City Commission approve title change to Facilities Maintenance Director and upgrade the job to managerial pay grade 76 ($46,915 to $70,552).
