Explanation
The Community Development Committee discussed the referral from the City Commission regarding the recent changes to the landlord licensing ordinance. Staff and the Community Development Committee reviewed the legal recommendations as to why landlords should be required to provide all tenants with copies of the state law controlling residential tenancies, the City ordinance on landlord permits, and the City pamphlet on guidelines for rentals in residential neighborhoods. Staff and the Committee also discussed where all those items are available on the City's web site.

Recommendation
Community Development Committee to the City Commission: 1) the City continue requiring that landlords provide all tenants with copies of the state law controlling residential tenancies, the City ordinance on landlord permits, and the City pamphlet on guidelines for rentals in residential neighborhoods; and 2 remove this item from the referral list.
