This item is to update the Recreation, Cultural Affairs and Public Works Committee on the City swimming pools and aquatic programming including the expectations and vision for the NE pool.

Explanation

At the August 13, 2007, City Commission meeting an item regarding City swimming pools was referred to the Recreation, Cultural Affairs and Public Works Committee.  On September 6, 2007, staff briefed the Committee with a general overview of the City's aquatics programs.  The Committee requested this item be tabled and that staff return to provide more information regarding the expectations and vision for the NE pool.

There is no fiscal impact identified at this time.

Recommendation   

Recommended Motion:  The Recreation, Cultural Affairs, and Public Works Committee: 2) hear a presentation regarding City swimming pools, the aquatics program, and the expectations and vision for the NE pool and 2) request this item to be removed from the Active Referral List.
