This item is a request for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to execute a Lease for Solid Waste Office Space at 201 NW 10^th Avenue

Explanation

The Public Works Department's Solid Waste Division is requesting to renew the revised lease agreement of office space at 201 NW 10^th Avenue and a portion of an adjacent warehouse located at 920 NW 2^nd Street that consists of 3,400 square feet of office space and 1,000 square feet of warehouse space at $5,000 per month for eighteen (18) months.  This represents an increase of $500 per month over a rental rate that was constant since FY 2005.  

Fiscal Note

Funds are available in the Solid Waste Division's FY 2009 operating budget.

Recommendation

The City Commission:  1) authorize the City Manager to sign the lease with Mitchell Realty, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality; and 2) issue a purchase order in the amount of $60,000 for the first twelve (12) months and $30,000 for the final six (6) months of the eighteen (18) months lease.
