Authorization of Professional Design Services for Drainage Improvements at SE 2nd Avenue Over Rosewood Branch (NB)

Explanation

This project includes professional engineering services for drainage improvements at SE 2nd Avenue over Rosewood Branch.  Stormwater flow has caused erosion of the roadway embankment near the creek.  The proposed design will stabilize erosion of the embankment and the streambed.  A stormwater retrofit facility will also provide water quality treatment for the contributing watershed.

Fiscal Note

The total project cost is $44,491 and will be funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Special Purpose Grant for Revitalizing the Sweetwater Branch.

Recommendation

The City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to issue a purchase order not to exceed $44,491 to Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc., based on the scope of work dated June 7, 2004, as allowed under the existing contract for Water Resource Engineering Services.
