An ordinance of the City of Gainesville, Florida, repealing certain sections and creating new sections of Division 3 of Article VII of the Land Development Code relating to the Planned Development (PD) district; revising the objectives of the planned development district to include traditional development principles and revising the minimum requirements for rezoning to PD; providing directions to the codifier; providing a severability clause; providing a repealing clause; and providing an immediate effective date.
recommendation
The City Commission adopt the proposed ordinance.
explanation
At its meeting on April 13, 1998, the City Commission authorized the City Attorney to draft and the Clerk to advertise an ordinance amending the land development code to repeal and replace Division 3, Planned Development District. These changes would make the chapter easier to use and more clearly state the goals of the planned development process.
