Explanation
This Agreement has been reached through negotiations between The Amalgamated Transit Union, Local No. 1579, and the City of Gainesville, and was ratified by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local No. 1579 bargaining unit on December 29, 2001.
This Agreement provides for a 0.5% increase to base wages for all ATU-covered employees and at the same time requires that these employees make a contribution of 0.5% to the Retiree Health Savings (RHS) Plan. This is the same benefit already approved for CWA-covered employees.
Fiscal Note
Funds are currently budgeted for the Fiscal Year 2001-2002. The costs for the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 will be addressed in the budget preparation process for that year.
Recommendations
The City Commission ratify the amendment and Exhibit A to the Labor Agreement between the City of Gainesville and Amalgamated Transit Union, Local No. 1579 covering the period October 1, 2000, through September 30, 2003, a copy of which is on file with the Clerk of the Commission. After January 31, 2002, the Agreement will be on file in the Human Resources Department.
