Gainesville Police Department's Comprehensive Drug Plan Update to the Commission (NB)
Explanation
On July 24, 2003, the City Commission approved funding from the Law Enforcement Contraband Forfeiture Trust Fund to GPD to create a multi-faceted approach to drug problems, addressing prevention, education, treatment, and enforcement issues. The 14-month plan has the primary goal of reduction of visible drug activity in neighborhoods throughout the City of Gainesville, thus improving the quality of life for all citizens.
At the September 23, 2003 City Commission meeting, the Commission requested that GPD schedule periodic updates to the Comprehensive Drug Plan Program. This will be the third update on the program.
Recommendation
The City Commission hear an update by the Gainesville Police Department on the Comprehensive Drug Plan.
