Resolution Authorizing the Airport Industrial Park - Sidewalk Installation Policy (B)
Explanation
On January 26, 2004, the City Commission approved adoption of the Airport Industrial Park - Sidewalk Installation Policy. The Policy provides for assistance to existing businesses in the Airport Industrial Park in complying with sidewalk installation requirements of the Land Development Code. Existing businesses will be financially assisted in the provision of the retrofit portion of any required sidewalk. This resolution represents formal recognition of the Airport Industrial Park - Sidewalk Installation Policy based upon City Commission direction. The Policy is consistent with City Commission approved Economic Development Goals regarding the retention and expansion of existing business and the implementation of additional development incentives for businesses located in East Gainesville and the Enterprise Zone.
Fiscal Note
As a consequence of Policy adoption and City Commission direction, Performance Food Group will be assisted with sidewalk installation in an amount not to exceed $13,506. These funds have been transferred from the City Commission contingency to the Economic Development Department since the January 26, 2004 City Commission meeting.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) approve the resolution formalizing the Airport Industrial Park - Sidewalk Installation Policy; and 2) authorize the Mayor and Clerk of the Commission to execute the resolution.
