Second Extension of the Light Trucks, Vans & Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) Contract (B)
Explanation
In October 2000, the City Commission awarded a three-year contract to Wade Raulerson Pontiac-GMC for the supply of Light Trucks, Vans & SUVs. The advantages of standardization of the fleet include maintaining a lower inventory of parts, minimum purchases of specialized tools and manuals, increased mechanic and operator familiarity with the vehicle type, quicker delivery of new vehicles, price protection against popular models, and priority warranty services. Based on the vendor's performance, Fleet recommends taking advantage of the extension language for an additional one-year term. This is the second and last extension available on this contract.
Fiscal Impact
Funds for the replacement of vehicles will be available in the Fleet Replacement Fund upon final adoption of the FY 2005 budget.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) approve the extension of the current contract with Wade Raulerson Pontiac-GMC for a one-year term; 2) authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute the contract extension subject to approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality; and 3) authorize the City Manager to approve purchases made under this agreement consistent with the final adopted FY 2005 budget.
