Grant Application - Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council (B)
Explanation
The City received notice of funding availability through the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council for non-native invasive plant education and outreach activities in the State. The intent of these grants is to provide one-time initial funding to organizations or individuals who wish to educate the public about non-native invasive plants and their impacts.
Nature Operations is requesting permission to write a grant to obtain funding in the amount of $1,000 for the Third Annual Great Air Potato Roundup held on February 2, 2002, from the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council. The funding is strictly for this educational event and if awarded, will be used for advertisement of the event, and for provisions of supplies for the "Celebration Festival" held after the cleanup.

Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) authorize the City Manager, or his designee to submit a grant application to the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council; and 2) to execute the application, contract and other grant-related documents, if awarded.
