In-Place Density Testing Services for Capital Improvement Projects for FY 2001 (B)
Explanation
Contracts for in-place density testing services for capital improvement projects dated January 11, 1999 with Geoengineering & Testing, Inc., formerly known as Advanced Geotechnical Consultants, Inc., and Universal Engineering Sciences, Inc. will expire on September 30, 2000. Both firms have responded to the City's requests for services promptly and their services have been reliable and accurate. The Public Works Department recommends extending these contracts for FY 2000-2001.
The Contracts for Fiscal Year 1999 each allowed for two extensions. These are the second requests for extensions.
Fiscal Note
Funding sources will be identified, as needed from the City capital project budgets.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to execute Second Extension Agreements with Geoengineering & Testing, Inc., formerly known as Advanced Geotechnical Consultants, Inc., and Universal Engineering Sciences, Inc. for Professional Services for In-Place Density and Material Testing Services for Capital Improvement Projects, extending the term of the Agreements from October 1, 2000 to September 30, 2001, subject to approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality and subject to final appropriation of funds for FY 2001.
