First Extension to the Agreement with MV Transportation for ADA Services (B)
Explanation
The existing Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA) services contract with MV Transportation Inc. will expire on September 30, 2004. This contract has a provision for additional one-year extensions. RTS recommends extending the current contract for an additional one-year period from October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005. MV will charge the following rates for service in the RTS services area, which is an increase of 2.7%:
1. Ambulatory trips within RTS service area: $17.90 per trip (within RTS service area)
2. Mobility Device trips within RTS service area: $20.42 per trip (within RTS service area)
This agreement provides for RTS to lease six (6) vehicles to MV Transportation for the purpose of assistance in operating ADA service.
Fiscal Note
The funds for this service are included in the RTS FY 2005 operating budget.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to execute the first extension to the agreement with MV Transportation, to include the 2.7% rate increase, for the period of September 30, 2004 to September 30, 2005, and any other necessary documents.
