recommendation
The City Commission adopt the proposed resolution.
Explanation
Alachua County is currently conducting a study of space needs for County Administration and County Courts. The study will evaluate options for new or expanded offices including moving county functions out of the downtown area. The availability of parking will have an impact on the County's decision to move or not to move various offices. County offices play an important role in downtown's economy and vitality. Retention of County offices will require a high level of cooperation and coordination among the City, County and CRA.
Fiscal Note
Fiscal impact will be evaluated by the City staff in conjunction with the CRA and County.
