Explanation
On March 6, 2006, the City Commission received a presentation from ICF comparing and contrasting the four energy plan options selected for evaluation and documented in the report titled City of Gainesville Electrical Supply Needs (RFP No. 2005-147), dated March 1, 2006. At that time two follow-up workshops and a special meeting were scheduled. On March 21, the City Commission received a presentation from GDS Associates, Inc. summarizing their report titled Peer Review of ICF Consulting's Draft Report to the City of Gainesville Electrical Supply Needs (RFP No. 2005-147), dated February 28, 2006. The Commission also received a presentation of staff's responses to questions and comments prepared by the Mayor, Commissioner Donovan, and others. On March 30, the Commission received a presentation summarizing the previous studies and exercised a decision model which allowed the effects of various factor weightings on alternative outcomes. At that time staff was requested to address the effects of combining certain energy plan options, the cost of delay, and various other questions.
Recommendations
The City Commission receive a presentation from utility staff summarizing information prepared by staff pursuant to the March 30, 2006 meeting, discuss options for Gainesville's energy supply, and take any action deemed to be appropriate.
