Title
Approve an Interlocal Agreement with Alachua County for Purchase of EMS Equipment (B)
Explanation
The State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) allocates funds from the state EMS Trust Fund to the boards of county commissioners to improve and expand prehospital EMS systems in their county. The annual amount allocated to each county is proportional to the amount of traffic fines collected in the county as a result of motor vehicle infractions.
Alachua County has been allocated $112,232.45 for fiscal year 2000-2001. The Gainesville Fire Rescue Department (GFR) requested and was approved to receive $53,300.00 of these funds to purchase specific equipment for these purposes, including an LCD projector, pulse oximeter/CO2 detectors, extrication equipment and a patient simulator lab.
Fiscal Note
The $53,300.00 will be received from the County after the Interlocal Agreement is fully executed.
Recommendation:
The City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute the Interlocal Agreement with the County, and any other necessary documents pending review by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
