Transfer of Alachua County Recreation Grant to Cone Park (B)
Explanation
In December of 1999, the City solicited funding in the amount of $500,000 from Alachua County for the development of Cone Park, $250,000 of this funding was to come from an existing Florida Recreation Development Program Assistance Grant (FRDAP), which the County would turn over to the City for this project.
Staff successfully negotiated an agreement with the County for the transfer of this grant. The County has now secured an agreement with the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to transfer grant #M9019 to the City. The agreement will transfer all responsibilities to the City for the Grant's administration, oversight and project reports.

Recommendations
The City Commission: 1) approve the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Amendment #2 to transfer the County Florida Recreation Development Program Assistance Grant to the City; and 2) authorize the City Manager to execute the Amendment subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
