Title
Boundary Fencing for Parks and Tot Lots (B)
Explanation
At its September 10, 2001 meeting, Staff presented a report to the City Commission on existing fencing in City parks and tot lots. At that time, the Commission referred this item to the Recreation and Cultural Affairs (RCA) Committee for further study. At the November 19, 2001 RCA Committee meeting, Parks Manager Pat Byrne updated the Committee on the status of the existing boundary fencing and discussed future repairs/replacement alternatives. Staff was asked to establish: 1) a priority replacement list; 2) fencing standards (determined by the use and location); and 3) which locations should have neighborhood input during the decision making process.
At the August 20, 2002 RCA meeting, Mr. Byrne presented his findings. The Committee received the report and recommend acceptance of the proposed guidelines for fencing replacement. Staff requests that the Commission now hear the report and accept the proposed plan for replacement of boundary fencing for City parks and tot lots.
