Explanation
The Gainesville-Alachua County Cultural Affairs Board is proposing general revisions to their Bylaws. Article 1- Section 1: Changes the second paragraph to read, "Members appointed should have a strong interest in cultural affairs" instead of "the arts." The last line of that paragraph reflects having an interest in "cultural advocacy" instead of "arts advocacy." The third paragraph has been deleted as inappropriate. An additional line was added to the fourth paragraph defining "paid staff member." Article II - Section 4: A line was added requiring that incoming officers' terms equal or exceed the term of office; that the month be changed when the slate of officers will be given to the Board; and that the month that officers are to be elected and installed be changed.
