Title Update on Alachua County and City of Gainesville Joint Planning Explanation Over the last few months, the City Plan Board and the Alachua County Planning Commission have been discussing joint planning from a community development perspective. A subcommittee of the two planning entities met and developed a draft joint planning framework. On October 15, 1998, the City Plan Board reviewed the draft joint planning agreement position paper. The County Planning Commission is scheduled to review the position paper within the coming weeks. As soon as the County Planning Commission completes its review, the two boards will meet in order to draft the final document. It is anticipated that both the City Commission and the Board of County Commissioners will receive the document by the end of January 1999 or sooner for consideration. Fiscal Note None Recommendation The City Commission hear an update on joint planning.
