Name for City Parking Garage (NB)
Explanation
Public Works staff and the City Manager reviewed several names for the new City parking garage. The name that was chosen was Southwest Downtown Parking Garage. This name locates the facility as being in downtown Gainesville and further locates it in the southwest quadrant of downtown. Future parking garages the City may build would have similar names (City Hall Downtown Parking Garage, etc). This type of name was preferred over names such as Parking Garage 1 because it provides a location description.
