Coordinated Response at the Local Level to Address Energy Policy and Climate Change (B)

Explanation

Staff has monitored the various activities undertaken by the City and GRU to meet a Kyoto-like reduction in the emissions of greenhouse gases by the City and GRU by the end of 2013.  Staff constantly monitors regulations and legislation that could affect the operation of GRU's various electric assets.

Recommendation

The Regional Utilities Commission (RUC) receive a presentation from staff on the status of City and GRU activities to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.  Also receive a high level update on various environmental initiatives by EPA and FDEP.
