City Manager Selection Process (B)
Explanation
At the City Commission meeting of January 10, 2005, the Commission approved the proposal to retain an executive search firm to assist in the upcoming City Manager selection process.
On February 16, 2005 Purchasing distributed Requests For Proposals, and eight responses were received. Pursuant to the City Commission's direction, staff has evaluated the responses based on the criteria outlined in the RFP and is recommending three firms to make presentations to the City Commission:
The Mercer Group, Inc.
Bennett Yarger Associates, and
The PAR Group
A special meeting has been scheduled for May 2, 2005 at 5:30 pm to hear presentations from the three recommended firms and make a final selection.
Fiscal Note
Funds for the executive search firm services are available in the City Manager's department budget.
Recommendation
The City Commission hear a brief presentation from Human Resources Director, Tom Motes.
