Explanation

City and County Staff will present a preliminary idea for a joint City/County Administration offices on the City Hall block, located on 200 E University Avenue. The relocated administration offices shall replace the existing County administration facilities located on the block located between S Main St., E University Ave., SE 1^st St., and SE 1^st Ave. 

Staff anticipate that this approach could create efficiencies and improved public access through shared City/County facilities and create the potential for additional future tax revenue through redevelopment of the city block currently occupied by the County Administration Building.

Recommendation

The Joint City and County Commission discuss and provide direction as to whether City staff should continue to explore the idea.
